Update 5/20/26: These positions have been filled
The Nguyen lab in ETOX has exciting opportunities for undergrad researchers to do chemical characterization of commercial products containing cannabis-derived material and nicotine. Undergrads will help graduate students and staff with established sample preparation and GC-MS, LC-MS, and other instrumental analysis protocols for quantification of active ingredients, flavor chemicals, toxicants, and more.
Undergraduate researchers will be trained on analytical chemistry skills and developed into young scientists as a long-standing member of our team. Undergraduates will be offered co-authorship on relevant publications and given opportunities to present their research.
The internship will start with a training phase and will transition to a paid internship following sufficient progress. Undergraduate students in their second or third year with strong foundation in basic chemistry are ideal candidates. Analytical chem experience is desirable, but not required.
